1. Julia Stiles Wallpaper:

This wallpaper was made for a blend challenge at Flirtatious.

1. Downloaded all Julia Stiles pictures provided for the challenge. Chose all the pictures that i liked and placed them on the 1152x864 psd file.

Pictures are listed from left to right:
Picture1: resized. image>adjustments>curves. image>adjustments>hue saturation. repeat if necessary to get the preferred tone. using LinzeeStyle (see resources) brushes, i changed the eraser brush type to these. on 100% opacity and flow, erase around the edges of the picture, especially at the bottom and the right hand side of the hair. the top is not necessary, because the picture has a black background, which works well with the wallpaper background. filter>sharpen>sharpen. you can do this as many time that is necessary. this layer is situated above picture2.
Picture2: resized. image>adjustments>curves. only use the hue saturation to dull down the colours - you don't want them too bright. using the 'polygonal lasso tool' the right edge showing on the right is cut to slant. the bottom of the picture is not flat, so the eraser tool is used again. filter>sharpen>sharpen. the top of the picture is left alone. this layer is situated above picture3, picture4 and below picture1.
Picture3: using 'polygonal lasso tool', the background of the picture was cut out leaving a picture of Julia. resized. image>adjustments>curves. image>adjustments>desaturate. filter>sharpen>sharpen. this layer is situated above picture2 and 4.
Picture4: resized. image>adjustments>curves. image>adjustments>hue saturation. these steps were repeated. i used normal techniques of low opacity erasing to blend in the bottom of the picture with the black background. since the picture's background is also a bright colour, eraser was used around the head using some of LinzeeStyle brushes. filter>sharpen>sharpen. this layer is situated below picture2, picture3 and above picture5.

Picture6: using 'polygonal lasso tool', the background of the picture was cut out leaving a picture of Julia. resized. image>adjustments>curves. image>adjustments>hue saturation. filter>sharpen>sharpen. the picture is placed to the left of picture7. this layer is situated above all pictures.
Picture7: resized. image>adjustments>curves. image>adjustments>hue saturation. filter>sharpen>sharpen. this layer is situated below picture6 and 8.
Picture8: resized. image>adjustments>curves. image>adjustments>hue saturation. LinzeeStyle brushed eraser to erase around all the edges. filter>sharpen>sharpen. this layer is situated below picture.

The Background:
a new layer for each brush that is used. all brush layers are situated below all picture layers. LinzeeStyle, Hybrid Genesis and Ancient-Secret brushes were used. Hybrid Gensis grunge boxes are placed around picture5 and 7 to compensate for non-erased edges. LinzeeStyle grunge brushes and Ancient-Secret cracks brushes are used around picture8. this is done because it's on the very right and the picture is almost black and white. Hybrid Genesis brush is used once below picture1.

find lyrics to fit wallpaper. The first two lines of Jay Chou - Stranded is chosen. a layer is created below it where a box filled in black is drawn using the rectangular marquee tool. times new roman is used for this - keeping it simple. Julia Stiles is written in 'anarchistic'.
